Production Manager,  Robyn Berg

Production Manager, Robyn Berg

Production Manager: Robyn Berg is a veteran of the stage as an actor, director and teaching artist. Her most recent works include Portia in Julius Caesar as part of the Nashville Shakespeare Festival and directing Shrek at Lipscomb University which earned her a ACTF Excellence in Directing Award. BroadwayWorld. com said that Ms. Berg “has proven herself a vital – and much sought-after – member of the local theatrical scene.” Dream Big is honored to introduce the participants of our Annie, Jr. camp  not only to Robyn’s theatrical experience but also her love and enthusiasm of the theater. Robyn holds a Master of Fine Arts in Acting from the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Performance and Communications Radio/Television from Bradley University. She has performed in Greece, studied in London and acted, directed or taught in Florida, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia and West Virginia.  Visit Robyn's  website to learn more about her diverse theatrical career.

 

 

Christine

Director, Christine Perkins

Director: Christine Perkins is a graduate of Northwestern University where she double-majored in Vocal Performance and Acting and completed the Musical Theater Certificate program.  Most recently, Christine played Kate Mullins in the Jeff nominated Titanic at The Wit Theater and Isabelle in the Marriott Lincolnshire's Pirates of Penzance.  She works as a private monologue coach and teaches weekly performance classes at public schools in the Chicagoland area.  She also leads camps for Dream Big and the Music Institute of Chicago during the summer months.  She is currently a student herself at Second City where she studies Improvisation in their Conservatory program.   Christine is a company member with The House Theater of Chicago and has also been onstage at Marriott Lincolnshire, Griffin Theater, Open Door Repertory, Light Opera Works and the Arsht Center (Miami, FL).  Christine's beautiful voice is just part of what makes her an incredible actor, take a listen!

 

 

Elisa

Choreographer, Elisa Carlson

Choreographer: Elisa Carlson holds a bachelor’s degree in piano performance and theater from Indiana University.  She is a dancer, choreographer, and member of the Artistic Board of Innervation Dance Cooperative (www.innervationdance.org) and a singer and multi-instrumentalist at Howl at the Moon Chicago, entertaining audiences nightly on the piano, violin, drums and bass.  Other performing endeavors include the Chicago bands Mechanical Animals and Man Called Noon, for whom she contributes keyboard, fiddle, and vocals.  She is also proud to be joining the Hypocrites’ cast of American Idiot this fall.  Elisa is delighted to be choreographing Annie, Jr. for the Dream Big Performing Arts Workshop!  Get a sneak peak of Elisa's show stopping performances at Howl at the Moon here!

Musical Director, Angela Harrington

Musical Director: Angela Harrington is a San Francisco Bay Area native. She earned her MM in Opera & Vocal Performance from Northwestern University and BA in Music from Santa Clara University. Recent performance engagements include the Witch in Main Street Opera's Hansel & Gretel, Pitti-Sing in Evanston Savoyaires’ The Mikado, and Ma Joad in the Chicago premiere of Ricky Ian Gordon's opera, The Grapes of Wrath.  Other company credits include Bay Shore Lyric, Notre Dame de Namur University, Lyric Theater of San Jose, West Bay Opera, Opera San Jose.  Angela teaches over 200 children every week as the preschool and K-8 Music & Fine Arts teacher at St. Mary of the Angels School, where she recently directed the all-school musical Disney's Sleeping Beauty KIDS.  She has an active voice studio and teaches students from age 5 through adults in the Chicago & Evanston areas.

Assistant Choreographer, Darcy Coussens

Assistant Choreographer, Darcy Coussens

Assistant Choreographer: Darcy Coussens is a Chicago-based actress, choreographer and educator. She began performing professionally in Chicago at the age of ten and learned firsthand how theatre can empower young people whether in the classroom, on stage or from the audience. Most recently she has performed at Windy City Music Theatre and is often seen performing in a weekly production at Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. Darcy is a recent graduate of Northwestern University with a BA in Theatre and a module program of study in Music Theatre Choreography. While at Northwestern she performed in and choreographed numerous musicals and directed the first campus production for young audiences on the autism spectrum. For her theatrical work for young people she received the Aurand Harris Award for Excellence in Children's Theatre last year. Darcy has been teaching in the arts for nine years and currently teaches with Mudlark Theatre Company, Kaleidoscope Dance Center,  Glenwood Dance Studio and Dream Big.  In addition to being the Assistant Choreographer for Annie Jr., Darcy will also be the Aftercare Stage Crew Manager.

Assistant Musical Director, Sarah Hoch

Assistant Musical Director, Sarah Hoch

Assistant Musical Director: Sarah Hoch has been teaching for Dream Big since last spring and has enjoyed every minute of it! This is her third time working on Annie Jr.; she has choreographed it twice! You may have seen Sarah onstage as Charity in Sweet Charity at the Skokie Theatre this past fall, very recently in the ensemble of The Drowsy Chaperone at Metropolis, in many new musicals with Underscore Theatre, or cabarets with the Chicago Cabaret Project!  In addition to being the Assistant Musical Director for Annie Jr., Sarah will also be the Before Care Stage Crew Manager.

Stage Manager, Sadie Rose Glaspey

Stage Manager: Sadie Rose Glaspey graduated with her BFA in Musical Theater from Roosevelt University, Chicago College of the Performing Arts in 2012. Since then, she has had the privilege of working with some amazing people in the Chicago theater community. While holding down a job as a preschool teacher at Jewish Community for Youth Services Lakeview Preschool, she has been able to audition all around the city. One of her favorite experiences in a show was performing as the Witch's violin playing cat in the new rock musical version of Hansel and Gretel with Emerald City Children's Theater this past winter. She continues to integrate theater throughout all of the different parts of her life. Spreading the joy and confidence that theater can bring to any person of any age is her absolute favorite thing to be able to do.
