Dream Big Performing Arts Workshop is Seeking Marketing Interns for Summer 2015

Dream Big Performing Arts Workshop, LLC began in January 2006 with one class of four students. It was a small class with big dreams! Now in our 10th year, we have grown to offer an abundance of classes in and around the Chicago-land area, serving over 500 students weekly. We are proud to announce an expansion of new programming for students in Saugatuck, Michigan and Phoenix, Arizona.

Dream Big Performing Arts Workshop offers a variety of drama classes to children ages 2-18. Our classes are designed to foster creativity, self-expression and teamwork and, of course, to be a whole lot of fun! All of our professional teaching artists have had years of experience in theatre as performers, directors, choreographers and/or writers and have a passion for teaching kids in the performing arts. Some of our most popular classes include musical theatre, improvisation, story drama and, of course, our creatively themed 1-week drama camps.  We are a growing company with great opportunities for aspiring marketing directors to gain hands on experience in creating and developing new initiatives in order to expand this small business.

Dream Big Marketing Intern Job Responsibilities can include:

  • Assist with developing a marketing plan

  • Assist with maintaining Constant Contact newsletters/e-blasts

  • Suggestions for web design and updates

  • Assist with promotional materials and designs for flyers, brochures, postcards, etc.

  • Create and distribute Press Releases

  • Interview current students and families to create mini-promotional videos and picture montages

  • Find creative ways to share video and pictures with current and prospective families

  • Research articles and other content to share on social media

  • Aid in the advertising for 1-week drama camps/summer programming

  • Develop, plan and execute special promotions

  • Engage parent feedback through surveys and other means

  • Assist with establishing a non-profit scholarship fund for low-income families/schools

  • Research funding opportunities for schools

  • Research fresh new marketing trends in social media and other outlets to engage new and existing families

  • Update and daily/weekly management of Facebook,Twitter, LinkedIn and other social media

  • Acquire and publish testimonials from parents, students and schools

  • Distribute flyers, brochures, postcards, etc. and canvas neighborhoods with promotional materials.

  • Assist with planning a winter/spring 2016 fundraiser

  • Organize silent auction/donations

  • Represent Dream Big at summer festivals

  • Updating website, learning HTML and WordPress


Average of 5-10 hours/week for 12 weeks=60-120 hours

Compensation: Summer stipend

The Dream Big Marketing Intern would meet with our Operations and Marketing Manager as well as our Associate Director and other staff members at least once a week to touch base and collaborate at an agreed upon location.
